LiveBooth was an app I created for live event photographers and photo booths. I developed and maintained it for several years, but this year I committed full-time to Simple Booth and realized I can no longer continue working on it. Thank you to you everyone who downloaded and used the app. If you still need it, is is available on the App Store, but it is no longer actively being maintained. If you’re looking for world-class photo booth apps and hardware, I encourage you to check out!

LiveBooth Version 2.0 Now Available

LiveBooth v2 has been released as an update on the App Store with significant improvements and new features.

For the first time on any iPad social sharing kiosk you can now sync from Dropbox as your Photo Source in the app. This is a great alternative to the Photo Stream method that we’ve demonstrated in blogs and on videos. Dropbox syncs over local area networks for lightning fast sync speeds! It does require an internet connect to know when to sync but the actual transfer of files takes place directly over your Wi-Fi. This gives you a new way to configure your setup and connect with your other software applications to make your photo booth work exactly how you want.

To use Dropbox, just go into Settings and set the Photo Source to Dropbox. If your images are in a subdirectory, you can just type the subdirectory into the “Album, Shared Stream or Dropbox Path” text field using forward slashes for each subdirectory (e.g. “MyFolder/MyImages”). If you leave it blank it will display photos from your root Dropbox directory by default. When you open LiveBooth, you will be prompted to log in to your Dropbox account.

Other exciting additions include:

  • Portrait orientation is now supported for awesome display of portrait photos or vertical photo strips
  • Change your print mode to 5″ by 7″ prints for high end events
  • Scrolling through photos is faster and smoother by using multithreading technology
  • New modern design will help guide users in their app experience

Plus, we’ve fixed bugs! Having a problem? It’s probably fixed. For example, the app now remembers the last printer used so users do not have to choose.

The update is free to anyone who has already purchased the app, and if you’ve been thinking about buying LiveBooth, there’s never been a better time!

Note that LiveBooth Lite has already been updated but does not include Dropbox syncing or 5″ by 7″ prints, these new features are only available in the full version of LiveBooth.
